Final Report

Introduction

In our webpage, it consists of different new technology stuff and gadget. Our title for our webpage is gadget galore. We named it as gadget galore because all of us have to introduce a gadget in our own pages. So basically you can see a double effect image at the first page which is http://gadgetsgaloreatucsiu.bravehost.com/ it is written “Gadgets Galore”. Once you click in to the gadgets galore, you will see image bout technology stuff beside the word “Welcome 2 UCSI gadgets galore’. From the left side of the page, you will see lot gadgets like gaming, camera, mp3 and more, that is actually the link of our group individual pages. It contain home page, individual profile, summary of the IT notes, blog and facebook. This is roughly what’s on the page from our group page to the individual part.

I’m in charge of the headset, so I need to compare 3 other different types of headset here, which are wired headset, Bluetooth headset and wireless headset. Most of the information for the product I found on the web browser, like yahoo, google and hotmail. The video from my webpage is actually downloaded from youtube. The video is some kind related to the gadget that I did introduce earlier. It consists of 3 videos to describe each type of headset.

First and foremost, I did everything in the Microsoft word, because we need to standardize everything as a group. We get a sample of how to do everything from Stefanie Liew Shu Wen because she left the country earlier. I guess every one of us is using her webpage as a sample to work out on our own webpage. The first step is not so complicated because we just need to find our sources and arrange it in the Microsoft word document.

When it comes to html part, there is a little bit problems occur. Due to the window vista that I’m using right now, there is no Microsoft Frontpage that I’ve learned in the IT class at the computer lab. So I ask help from Nicol and she told me the same thing, which hers also don’t have it. So she did send me a file and said that can help me for the assignment. After I save it I can’t really open it because I have not download the setup which I’m not familiar with that. I do download the setup for a few times I finally I got the Microsoft Expression Web 3 but when I open it, it show Microsoft office publisher document. I think I use a long time to download the Microsoft Expression Web 3 and work on it.

The picture and I use the bravehost to upload it. It is more convenience since I have used it before. So there are not many difficulties. Below is the 1st page of my webpage. It contains my profile and the message for the readers.



For the second next webpage is for the individual part that describe the gadgets. I did upload some pictures, videos and features of the headset to compared. It is just simple features that I found on the website. Besides that, there is also different pages for notes review, blog and facebook link for readers to know more bout me. For the group webpage, Bala and Navid help us to join/put everything in a page.

Conclusion
The final assignment for this webpage, I did learn a lot stuff from uploading the files to team work. Microsoft Frontpage or Microsoft Expression Web 3 is much more easy then the notepad html, but we do need the basic html coding because if there is the problems occurs, we can just add a code to fix it and not to re-do all over again. It is useful in future when we open a new webpage for a club, society or a company. Due to the short timeline, I do copy the lecturer (Ms. Shahrinaz) notes as my note review.

IT final assignment

There have been a long time i never update this post, is because i active in the other blog. Anyway Assignments drive me crazy. Especially this two weeks. But no worries all will end soon. Yeah a good news here is i join Bala IT group and i felt everyone is very nice and cooperate well together. We have our meeting yesterday 4-6pm at library. The next meeting is on Thursday. We are going to done our main page on Thursday night. Before we went to the meeting, we need to be prepared for our own things as well. So we can help each other on that day. Report for the HTML assignment.

1.The Process and methods-for doing the HTML and creating a blog. First and foremost to create a html we actually attended our Intro to IT class. And from there we learned how to create a html from opened a notepad, what codes to put to uploading image and columns. The process of the whole html are we need to learn those coding not only from lecturer, in order to make it more creative we can search it on the website. For example those colors and background. Besides that, we need to create a folder called 'image' in the HTML folder in order to put our picture in the webpage. For the font size and type of font we search from the microsoft words. The blog i choose to use blogspot because i do have 2 blog by using blogspot so is more convenient and user friendly for me. From the current email address i just add a new blog by clicking customize and then dashboard and create a blog. Blogspot is a user friendly blog for me because for 1 email address and password i actually can manage more than 1 blog.



2. Technologies/tools- Due to the technologies have improve so much, it actually gave us the chances to create a html through add some codings like 'head' 'tittle' 'p' and it actually will separate the tittles from those paragraph itself. Not only that, it actually can be change from time to time by editing in the notepad. And all we need to do is just memorize those coding by using it everyday or save in the document. Other than that, we do learn about the web server. We choosen bravehost because it is easy to sign up and i think there is no free web server for new user in geocites. http://geocities.yahoo.com/. The advantages from brave host is easy to sign up, it's free and it wont take long time for us to upload our file.
The disadvantages for the bravehost for me is even we already upload the file but when we click in to the webpage it doesn't appear what i want it and we actually do not know that we must upload the image folder in to the website as well. So, like after we can view what we want on the website, but we couldn't see the image there. It can say the difficulties that we have faced.


3. Experience/difficulty in debugging the HTML codes-The codes like the colors of the font and the background wallpaper we found it on the microsoft words and website. We got the background image from the googles and we did enlargement. And sometimes we cant get what we want when we view at the explorer because we forgotten to close the codes. I think most of them tried this before. And sometimes is difficult to recognize it because there are too many codes.


4. Experience/difficulty in searching/choosing the suitable web hosting server- I don't think there is difficulty in this steps because we do not do alot of survey on the web hosting part. We just found out that geocites have no free webhosting and then we change to bravenet. We do need sometimes to figure it out like where to upload the files and why it doesn't works. This is something that we can't solve within us so we do meet the lecturer.


5. Experience/difficulty in uploading the files-The difficulties to upload the files, as i said just now is we did upload first but it doesn't appear in the webpage that we created. So we need to click publish and upload those image as well.


6. process and experience/difficulty in creating a blog and learning how to use a blog- i don't think i face any problems or diffuculty here since i've been using this blogspot for quite some times. Is actually introduce and teached by my cousin. And i found out erm, this is nice caz we can create our background, the customize, how to place our friend and label the blog. And lately i heard that blog actually can be use to earn money. Is actually through "Nuffnang". Is just to place the HTML/Java script in your gadgets so once your friends or others click in your blog, they will record it and pay you 15 cents for every click.


7. Conclusion- I found out that is interesting to create out own HTML,even ours not that nice but we do applied everything that we learn in our tutorial and lecture. It also can lead us to create website in future. In conclusion i love the final report more then the webhost. This is because i love to blog and i'm an active blogger
